David J. Frederiks MD
Board Certified in Family Medicine
Whatever happened to the old fashioned doctor with the little black bag who came to your house when you were too sick to get to his office? Unfortunately the costs of medicine squeezed out this very necessary service. Dr. Frederiks was trained as a family physician and wants to keep those ideals alive. Believe it or not he still makes house calls when needed. He believes that the doctor-patient relationship is of paramount importance. He doesn’t believe in the five minute office visit or the 50 minute hour. He doesn’t use an answering service because he thinks that when you’re sick you want to talk to your doctor not someone in a call center. He feels that patients get the best care from someone they get to know and trust.
Dr. Frederiks completed his training in family practice at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ in 1998 and graduated from UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ in 1995. He has been in family practice in for 3 years in Old Saybrook, CT and also serves as a part-time hospitalist at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, CT.
